Intrax’s end-to-end service offering means that, as well as satisfying all your engineering needs, we can provide estimates of construction costs and development fees payable to councils and statutory authorities.

With the capability and expertise to coordinate the design and construction of all major utility requirements (usually power and telecommunications) for major subdivisions, extensive project experience then enables us to advise clients on contractor capabilities and selection appropriate to the size and complexity of the project.

Feasibility Assessments & Site Investigations:

At Intrax we recognize the value of a comprehensive feasibility study being a key indication towards the investment required for the success of a venture or development. That is why we provide our clients with a widespread of evaluations which include the analysis of the existing conditions and availability of services such as drainage, water, sewer, power, gas & communications within the near vicinity of the proposed site. Our assessment investigates the constructability and workability of each individual development identifying the possible issues relating to extensive earth works, finished levels and grades, site accessibility, retaining walls and the impact on or by adjoining properties.

Stormwater Management & Drainage Design:

Every development is required to be properly drained at all times to the satisfaction of the responsible authority. In order to achieve this we provide our clients with a detailed design and supporting documentation of the stormwater drainage network as required for any type of development ranging from residential unit developments through to multi story buildings, industrial warehouses as well as commercial developments. In our stormwater management and drainage designs we aim towards achieving the most economical design that is within the projects budget whilst maintaining the highest of industry standards. In order to do so we use a variety of different pipe materials and pit types to suit each type of development while balancing the site grades to minimize the pit depth and trench excavation requirement. As part of our documentation process we also liaise with the local authority and obtain their approval for the stormwater design as well as provide a certificate of compliance for the drainage design if required.

On-Site Detention & Retention:

On-site detention is when the additional stormwater generated by a development is stored on site and is slowly discharged via a control device into the municipality drainage system in order to reduce the load on existing network.

Water collected can also be used for reuse purposes such as irrigation and gardening, washing cars and toilet flushing etc.

We provide several storage solutions for each type of development and satisfy virtually any volume of storage required depending on the specific needs and requirements of each development. Our on-site storage designs include several methods of storage systems either above or below ground within tanks or pipes, depending on the site conditions. We also offer dual purpose systems which incorporate detention and retention within one system where appropriate. For each storage system we also provide a control device to limit the discharge flow. There are several forms control device that can be used and we adopt the most suitable device for each development.

Water Sensitive Urban Design:

Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) is about integration of water cycle management into urban planning and design. At Intrax we encourage our clients to incorporate WSUD as we see the importance of moving forward into a more sustainable future. We provide practical methods of incorporating WSUD within a development and we base our design upon the characteristics of each individual project and the site constraints, with an emphasis on providing best practice and cost efficient methods to provide this sustainable future.

Stormwater Pump Systems:

Over the years we have designed several pump systems for a variety of developments where the existing legal discharge point is located at a higher level than the lowest area of the site that needs to be drained. Some of these developments include residential dwellings that have a basement, multi story buildings with several underground carparking levels, car stacker & lift shaft pits etc. As part of our design process we also consult and liaise with several stormwater pump consultants/manufacturers in order to obtain the most efficient pump system available on the market which is both suitable and economical for each individual project.

Retaining walls:

We provide a wide range of retaining wall systems for any type of development ranging from timber sleeper walls through to precast panel walls, gabion retaining systems and so forth with heights varying between 400-2400mm and higher. The designs of all the retaining walls are provided by our highly qualified structural department team.

Project Management & Construction Supervision:

Ensuring that a development progresses smoothly comes down to a strong understanding of construction and constructability. Our team can advise, guide or manage all aspects of development to ensure that your project achieves the expected results within the defined time frames and budget. Intrax has several independent departments each with profound knowledge in its field. Therefore by bringing our departments together we are able to provide our clients with the majority of the services required throughout a project which assists in the planning, organizing and managing of the resources to bring about the successful completion of a project.

Hydraulic Design:

Our civil department also offers the ability to provide our clients with fully documented Hydraulic services designs. Our proven knowledge and experience in the field of Hydraulics enables us to produce comprehensive designs for services such as sewer, water supply, fire services and gas. Over the years we have provided our hydraulics services to a diverse range of clients for all types of developments such as residential, commercial, industrial and local governments.
